Harvey Keleman

Harvey Keleman died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, after a brief illness following a stroke on February 3. A first generation American born in Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin with an accounting degree after serving honorably in the US Army in Italy and North Africa during WWII. Harvey raised his three sons in Indiana with Eleanor C. Keleman, his wife of 53 years, who died in 1998. He was an active member of Sinai Synagogue in South Bend and enjoyed years of boating on Lake Michigan with friends and family.

After successful careers as an accountant, stock broker and marketing director, Harvey and Elie moved to Arizona in the early 80's. While Mom refined her arts & crafts skills, Dad spent his semi-retirement giving to others as a volunteer at Recording for the Blind, the Mesa Public Library and was an active member of the Jewish War Veterans, Red Mountain Post 128. Harvey is survived by his three sons, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Eleanor C. Keleman Memorial Kitchen Fund at Temple Beth Sholom in Chandler, AZ. Services have been held. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.
