Evelyn Louise (Scholz) Molnar

Evelyn Louise Molnar, 89 years old, passed away from on-going health issues on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was born in South Bend, IN, April 25, 1936 to the late George Scholz and Julia (Denamics) Scholz of South Bend, IN. Evelyn graduated in 1954 from South Bend Central High School.
Her gift was always being a mom and volunteering in the communities where she lived. She worked for Ma Bell, even was a model for one of their ad campaigns. She also worked for many years at Principal Life Insurance. Evelyn and her husband Emery relocated to St. Joseph, MI where she worked for All Phase Electric and loved living in a home overlooking Silver Beach. Upon retirement they moved to Eau Claire, WI. Years later, they moved to Pensacola, FL for the sunshine and beaches. Then she moved to Granger, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emery Molnar in 2020. She is survived by their five children, Jeanne Molnar, Emery (Mary Beth) Molnar, Michael Molnar (Diane), Judy (Rick) Wilson and Thomas (Beth) Molnar. Evelyn and Emery were blessed by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visiting with her family brought her much joy. She made the ordinary, extraordinary. She was present for games, graduations, weddings, concerts and more. On screen technology brought those far, near over the years. She was truly the example of being an amazing mom, always there for the family. One of her gifts of giving was creating and preserving photo albums for the family throughout the years. Then providing them with their own photo album of their lives at graduation or other milestone events was fun for her, always sharing.
The immediate family will gather for a private funeral mass and burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the campus of University of Notre Dame.
