Lenore Evelyn Dymak

Lenore Evelyn Dymak (Clark)

May 03, 1937 ~ October 11, 2025

Lenore Evelyn (Dymak) Clark, 88, was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 11 th . She felt blessed to spend her last weeks with "the girls" as she called her new housemates at The Caring Cottage Senior Living house in South Bend.

Lenore was born in South Bend on May 3, 1937, to Joseph and Mary Lucille (Truel) Dymak. She graduated from Central High School in South Bend at age 16. She attended a year of college at IU Bloomington before coming home to work at Bendix and marry Robert M. Clark, Jr on February 23, 1957.

While raising her family, Lenore was a substitute teacher for many years and continued taking classes at IUSB. Lenore always had a creative flare and started her love of sewing at age 10. She used these talents to make clothes and gifts for family and friends from then on. In 1987, Lenore completed her Interior Design degree from Ivy Tech and in 1988, turned a sewing hobby into a career by opening Lenore Clark Designs. During her years in business, Lenore specialized in creating window treatments for many Parade of Homes tours, historical homes and offices. She had one of the first industrial quilting machines in the area and just closed her workroom a few years ago.

Lenore spent many years supporting her family at sporting events and school programs. She was an avid gardener; had lifelong friends she remained in contact with and loved the Hallmark channel. In her retirement, Lenore enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slot machines.

Lenore said her riches and greatest joy in life came from her family. Her four boys loved to tease her, and in their youth affectionately gave her the nickname of Lovey for which she is best known by close friends and family.

Mourning her passing, are her son's and their family members: Robert M. (Gail) Clark, III of Perry, MI, Thomas J. (Angie) Clark of Elkhart, IN, Daniel J. (Allyson) Clark of Danville, IN, and Michael A. (Heather) Clark of Indianapolis, IN. Also to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Kacie (Doug), Ben, Molly, Logan, Gracie, Rachel and great-grandchildren Emily, Joe and Michael.

Lenore was preceded in death by her beloved parents and younger brother, Robert Joseph Dymak. Per Lenore's request, she was to be cremated. There will be a time of gathering for family and friends on Friday, October 24 th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either Tunnels to Towers Foundation; an organization in which Lenore shared the guiding philosophy of St Francis of Assisi "while we have time, let us do good"; the Elkhart Co. Center for Hospice or Council on Aging.
