Nancy A. Gorsuch

Nancy A. Gorsuch, 77, passed away February 9th at her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on September 3, 1937 in South Bend, Indiana to Russel and Harriet Dumont. On August 22, 1959, she married Dean Gorsuch who survives. 

Nancy attended South Bend Central High School and earned her Bachelor and Masters degree from Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. She taught for 23 1/2 years starting at Huntertown in 1959 and retired from Carroll High School in 1997. During that time, she took a leave from teaching to raise three children. 

Nancy enjoyed reading, volunteering at the Embassy, attending her Alpha Chi Omega meetings, traveling, and most of all her family.

Surviving are her husband, Dean Gorsuch, and her children, Amy (Kent) Steeves of Newark, DE, Beth Chester of Fort Wayne, and Mark (Stacey) Gorsuch of Fort Wayne. Surviving also are her grandchildren, Megan and Katie Steeves, Andrew and Lisa Chester, Will and Mandy Gorsuch; her sister, Katie (Tom) Hollopeter of Dayton, OH; and her brother, Craig Dumont of Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Russell Dumont, Jr.; and son-in-law, Steven Chester. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at 10:30 am with calling an hour prior at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Ft. Wayne, IN. Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 2 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.
