SOUTH BEND - Richard E. “Dick” Clark, 82, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 with his best friend/companion of 20 years, Shari Pullen and their dog Gracie by his side. Richard was born on March 3, 1936 in South Bend, IN, to the late Earl and Frances (Berger) Clark. Richard is survived by numerous cousins and many dear friends who loved him and will miss his smile and great sense of humor. He always saw the positive in everyone and never met a stranger. Richard graduated from Central High School in 1955 and following graduation served in the Army National Guard. He was a local barber for 18 years and the owner/operator of Dick Clark's Barber Shop on Portage Avenue in South Bend for 13 years. Richard retired in 1998, after 23 years with Transpo as a bus driver. Richard was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in South Bend, where he served as past council member. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 51900 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46628; or to Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. We'd like to extend our sincere “Thank You” to the staff of the Hearth at Juday Creek Keepsake Village located in Granger, IN and the staff of Harbor Light Hospice for the care they provided for Richard for the past 2 years.
