Teresa Ann Yates, 86, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at her residence.

She was born August 22, 1932 in South Bend, to the late Steven and Anna (Bella) Nyikos.

On May 1, 1954, in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Donald Wayne Yates Sr.; they were able to cherish sixty-one years together before his passing on December 16, 2015.

Teresa was a loving and a hardworking homemaker who raised eight children. Since 1966, Teresa was a faithful member of the St. Jude Catholic Church.

Surviving are her eight loving children; Carol Ann (Dr. Tom) Mabry of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Robin Marie (Jerry Mann) Yates of South Bend, David Wayne (Laura Addison) Yates of Mishawaka, Richard Alan (Susan) Yates of Powder Springs, Georgia, Patrick Donald (Denice) Yates of Buchanan, Michigan, Jeffrey Dale Yates of Greenbrae, California, Donald Wayne Yates Jr. of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Michael (Camarra) Yates of Gineva, Indiana. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three sisters-in-law; Julie Nyikos, Barbara Nyikos and Joann Nyikos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters; Anne Matthew, Kathryn Janasiak, Marie and Barbara (twins) Nyikos, and five brothers; Joe, Bob, Richard, Michael and Steven Nyikos.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana 46614, with a Rosary recited at 4:00 PM.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, Indiana 46614, with Rev. John H. Delaney officiating.

Entombment will follow at the Highland Mausoleum, South Bend.
