Joseph J. Sorocco, Jr.
June 3 1941 ~ October 23, 2025
Joseph J. Sorocco, Jr., 84, passed away on October 23, 2025, at North Woods Village with his family by his side. He was born on June 3, 1941, in South Bend, IN to Delta & Joseph J. Sorocco, Sr. Both parents preceded him in death along with his son-in-law Neil Miller.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary Ann. They were married on September 10, 1966, in South Bend. Also surviving are their children Douglas (Kristen) Sorocco of Oklahoma City, OK, and Leslie Miller of South Bend; and four grandchildren Karl and Sophia Sorocco and Garrett and Mackenzie Miller. He is also survived by his sister, Connie (David) Wiseman of Granger.
After graduation from Central High School, Joseph volunteered the draft and entered the U.S. Army. After training as a medic at Ft. Sam Houston in Texas, he was sent to Munchweiler, Germany to complete his tour of duty. While serving in Germany, he was proud to have served as a member of the color guard for President John F. Kennedy’s visit in 1963. After returning from the service, Joe worked in sales at St. John Business Machines and at Valentine & Associates as a manufacturers rep.
Joe loved fishing with friends, piloting his pontoon boat, playing senior softball, and being with his family. He was so proud of his four wonderful grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church at 11:00 am on November 17th with visitation with the family one hour prior.
