SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Guy J. Stancati, 88, passed away in his sleep on Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Guy was born September 25, 1932 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania to the late Anthony and Angelina (DeMarco) Stancati. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Stancati.

Left to cherish the memory of Guy is loving wife Rita (Strychalski) Stancati whom he married on September 1, 1952 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Niles, MI. Guy is also survived by his daughters, Maria & Michelle Stancati; grandson, Anthony Jakubowicz; brothers, Ross (Norma) Stancati, Anthony (Sally) Stancati; sister-in-law, Joan Stancati; special niece, Loraine Adams; and many dear godchildren, nieces and nephews.

Guy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a Comptroller for L&M Enterprises for over 30 years. Guy served on the St. Joseph Funeral Home and Cemetery board of directors for many years, holding the role as President for both. He was a member of St. Hedwig Holy Name Society, St. Adalbert Ushers Club, PNA, ZB Falcons, American Legion Post 357, Army & Navy 146- 50-year member & past Commander, KC's John Carroll Council 5570-50-year member, Italian-American Heritage Society of Notre Dame, and Westside Conservation Club. Guy always greeted you with a smile and cigar. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends & family, especially the apple of his eye, his grandson, AJ.

Visitation will be 10:00am to 11:00am Saturday, June 5, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
