James E. Hillman

MISSION VIEJO, CA: James Everts Hillman, husband, father and dear friend, passed away on Tuesday, July 1st. He was born May 5, 1932, in South Bend, Indiana, to Dr. & Mrs. Marion Hillman.
He joined the Air Force Cadets for 2 years before graduating from Michigan State University. He went on to take a job with The Associates Financial Company in Fort Worth, Texas. He returned to South Bend in 1961 to marry his lifelong love and best friend, Mae Denbo. They made their way west to Hollywood, California. After 13 years in southern California, followed by San Francisco, they decided to call Mission Viejo, CA, home.
Jim had a zest for life, loved gardening, traveling, and experiencing new and different things. Jim volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Cancer Society. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to say "Everything is going to be all right!"
Jim is survived by his wife Mae, to whom he was attached at the hip for 53 years, his daughter Cynthia, and her partner Emma, his son, Scott, and wife, Claudia, his son, Dirk, and wife Ci, and his six grandkids, Dylan, Kyle, Amy, Anthony, Aden and Austin. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews whom he loved and admired.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Charles from South Bend, IN. Jim's "Celebration of Life" Service will be today, July 10th, at the Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo, CA.
