Wayne Wallace

May 11, 1940 ~ July 10, 2022 (age 82)

Wayne Wallace, 82 years old, passed away unexpectedly at 9:49 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at his home.  Wayne was born on May 11, 1940 in Fulton, MS to the late Cletus A. and Hazel O. (Parker) Wallace.  He has lived in our local area since his teenage years.  On May 1, 1965 in Lakeville, Wayne and Joyce E. Guhse were united in marriage.

Along with Joyce, his loving wife of 57 years, Wayne is survived by their two children, Lyn (Mike) Swartz of Buchanan, MI and Jeffrey (Derek) Wallace of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three grandchildren, Casey (Heather) Anderson, Joshua Anderson, and Brooke (Randy) Ernsberger; two great grandchildren, Callie and Tucker; two sisters, Paulette (Jim) Lichatowich of Columbia City, OR and Carol (Julie) Wallace of Baltimore, MD; and one brother, Doyle (Barb) Wallace of North Carolina.  Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Spencer.

Wayne retired in 2002 after 15 years as the owner and operator of Lakeville Lawn & Garden.  He formerly worked at Redi Froze for 10 years and Stone Container for 12 years.  Wayne was currently attending North Liberty Church of Christ.  He proudly served his country with the United States Army.

A service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville.  Pastor Tim Stewart will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
