Marceline (Marcy) A. Butz, 84 passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was born on January 5, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana to Lucian and Clementine Widawski (Sotkiewicz), who both preceded her in death, as well as her husband Robert (Bob) Butz, her brothers Donald Widawski and Thomas Widawski, her sister-in-law, Theresa Widawski and a nephew, David Widawski. Surviving are her nieces Deb (Mark) Horvath of Lakeville, Indiana, and Ann (Mike) Black of Highland Illinois.  Her nephews Bob (Michelle) Widawski of South Bend and Paul (Sandy) Widawski of South Bend, great nephews Justin (Hilary) Horvath, Chad (Erica) Horvath, great nieces Angie (Chad) Cave, Bobbi Jo (Kevin) Arndt, Melissa Widawski, Kimberly Widawski, Stacy Page, Sara (Keith) Szyniszewski and Apryl (Josh) Benjamin as well as 18 great great nieces and nephews. Most significantly, are her very best friends and primary care givers, Dixie and Bob Mason of Mishawaka who have been cherished and loving friends and one-time neighbors for over 50 years.

Marcy worked as Associates fresh out of high school and then moved to Glaval which was a van conversion place in Elkhart, then moved to Burlington Coat Factory where she retired from when she was 70.  Marcy and her husband were members of East United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and they volunteered their time at a local food pantry called AlBright.  Marcy also patrolled the Mishawaka Riverwalk as a CAP volunteer where she met many interesting people. Marcy had many loving friends that she enjoyed playing cards with. She looked forward to those Monday afternoon card games every week.

Funeral services will be held at Palmer Funeral Homes~River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN  46615 at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 15, 2025 where friends will be received from 11:00am ~ 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the hospice care team for their compassion and support as they took phenomenal care of Marcy in her final days.  Memorial contributions can be made to AlBright food pantry or the American Cancer Society, or the Center for Hospice.  Condolences for the family may be posted on our website www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
