JANICE CALDWELL

SOUTH BEND - Janice Marie Caldwell, 69, of South Bend, passed away Monday June 7th, in River Crest Specialized Hospital, Mishawaka, after being involved in a traffic accident on May 21, 2010. Janice was born February 7, 1941 in South Bend to the late Jack and Virginia (Richmond) Caldwell.

Janice was a proud 1959 graduate of Central High School.

She worked for K-Mart south for 35 years and maintained her many friendships with her fellow K-Mart employees, since her retirement in 1998.

Janice is survived by her brother Robert (Constance) Caldwell of South Bend, one niece Robin Avina, two great nieces, Krista Caldwell and Kaitelyn Avina, two great nephews, Justin Caldwell and Luis Avina, two great- great nieces Justine Elizabeth and Jenna Marie Caldwell, who were the apple of her eye. Janice also had many friends, a special few being Sandy, Wanda, Eva, and Kaaren. Janice spent many happy times with them. Janice also enjoyed seeing the "gang" at the Plaza restaurant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Memorials & Honors Program, P O Box 2680, North Canton, OH, 44720 or to Northwest United Methodist Church, 21855 Brick Rd. South Bend, IN 46628, where Janice was a longtime member.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday June 11, 2010, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
