Eleanor Ullery, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in her hometown of South Bend, Indiana. She was 84 years old. Eleanor was born on April 18, 1941, in South Bend, where she spent her entire life surrounded by family and friends who cherished her dearly.

Eleanor was the loving daughter of Peter Brodner, Irene (Mustatia) Brodner, and step- mother Wilma Brodner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband Jerry, and her beloved son, Steven. Eleanor’s legacy lives on through her surviving family, including her caring sister, Betty (Sam) Whitt, her brother, Paul Brodner, her two sons, Jerry (Bonnie) Ullery and David Ullery, and an impressive brood of seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Eleanor dedicated much of her life to her work as an Office Manager for the insurance department at St. Joseph Medical Center. Her professionalism, coupled with her warm demeanor, made her a respected figure among her colleagues and an enduring presence in the lives of those she supported through her career.

Beyond her professional life, Eleanor was deeply involved in her community. She served as a Cub Scout leader, where she imparted valuable lessons and positive values to the children she guided. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her own family, as she touched the lives of many young people during that time.

Eleanor had a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature. She found joy in sunflowers and waterfalls, and admired the charm of both covered bridges and old barns. These interests reflected her love for the simple things in life and her ability to find peace and beauty in the world around her.

Eleanor Ullery will be remembered not only for her many contributions to her family and community but also for her unwavering kindness and gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and strength, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
