SOUTH BEND - William (Bill) Robert Seybold, 84, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2016. He was born November 8, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana to Guy and Grace Petersen Seybold. Bill graduated from South Bend Central High School in the class of 1950. Bill earned his BS in Business from Indiana University in 1957 and his Masters degree in accounting in1962 from Michigan State. He held his CPA license throughout his professional career. In 1993, he retired from 26 years of service as Director of Finance for the South Bend Community School Corporation. Bill continued his service to the community as business manager for the South Bend Regional Museum of Art from 1998 to 2015. He enjoyed his work and retired only a year before his passing. During his later years, Bill spent much of his free time volunteering as a driver for children receiving medical treatment at regional Shriner's Hospital. He was an active member of the local Masonic Lodge 45 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend and the York Rite Masons.
Bill is survived by his wife Marilyn Anunciado Seybold, his 5 children; Dawn (Mark) Hawkins of Riverside CA, William (Jan) Seybold Jr of Plover, WI, Tamara (Steve) Hoersten of Brownsburg, IN, Janet (Dean) Rudasics of Edwardsburg, MI, and Philip (Josie) Seybold of Hagerstown, IN, He is also survived by his step-daughters MaryCille Anunciado of South Bend, and Alice (Erik) Mundz of Carbondale, IL ; brother, James (Mary Lou) Seybold, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. William is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Miriam Canen Seybold.
Bill was a loving and devoted family man who thoroughly enjoyed any activity that involved spending time with his family. His children have many special memories of the wonderful family vacations and times they spent together. Once his children were grown, that dedication was extended to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In the hours before his passing, Bill frequently told his family that he was thankful for such a wonderful life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday October 31, 2016 in Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Rd. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday October 30th in the Welshemer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. and one hour prior to services at church on Monday. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
