Dolores J. (Markiewicz) Liwosz
Dolores J. Liwosz, 93, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in her home. Dolores was born on March 12, 1931 in South Bend, Indiana to George and Victoria (Palicki) Markiewicz. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse for many years. She had worked at St. Joseph Care Center as a Registered Nurse for 7 years, as a receptionist at Mirkin Law Office for 2 ½ years, and H & R Block for 6 years.
On August 17, 1957, in St. Stanislaus Church, she married Robert Liwosz, who preceded her in death on July 3, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Warrell.
Dolores is survived by two sons, Raymond (Elizabeth) Liwosz of Mooresville, Indiana and Richard Liwosz of South Bend, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Rebecca Liwosz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 in Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Church. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
Dolores was a 1949 graduate of Central High School.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Apostleship of Prayer and Harvest House. She was also a member of St. Hedwig Golden Cluster; St. Adalbert, Holy Family and St. Adalbert Harvest House; President of Chopin Fine Arts Club for 20 years where she also served as Treasurer; former President of Hoosier Grandmothers Club; member of the Polish Womens Alliance #65 and served as Secretary for many years; member of Z.B. Falcons Nest 80 and the American Legion Pulaski Post #357 Women’s Auxillary; former member of Daughters of Isabella #572 and Centrala; and was a longtime volunteer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Memorial Contributions should be directed to Chopin Fine Arts Scholarship or St. Stanislaus Church.
