Loretta Jean (Paskiet) Deren

Loretta Jean Deren, 69, residing on Whitehall Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

Mrs. Deren was born on May 25, 1930, in South Bend, to the late Ike and Wanda Paskiet, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community. She was employed for many years with Frepan Floral Company as a designer.

On June 14, 1952, in South Bend, as Loretta Jean Paskiet, she married John Eugene Deren. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John; two daughters, Jodie (Jason) Edwards of Tacoma Wash., Peggy Deren of South Bend; and two sons, Jeff David Deren of Oakland, Calif., and Michael John (Tina) Deren of Granger; two grandchildren, Mitchell and Laura Deren also reside in Granger; a sister, Delores Biber of Burbank, Calif.; and two brothers, James Paskiet of Sarasota, Fla., and Donald Paskiet of California.

Jean was especially fond of her two grandchildren, Mitchell and Laura, and she enjoyed arranging flowers. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and Ladies Auxiliary of Elks Lodge #235, both of South Bend
