Gregory Taylor Dickinson
April 14, 1950 – Jan. 20, 2005
On the morning of January 20, 2005, Gregory Taylor Dickinson, 54, born April 14, 1950, to Coleridge and Constance Dickinson, transitioned from this life as the result of a cancer-related illness. Gregory, a former resident of South Bend, graduated Central High School in 1968 and moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he remained.
Mr. Dickinson was a professional historian and lecturer on U.S. history with a profound knowledge of “The Tuskegee Airmen,”Black women pilots, Civil War facts, and every aspect of the SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. He spoke frequently at the March Field Air Museum and for many other venues in California. He was also well-versed on the California wine country history. Gregory possessed an innate artistic talent for capturing beauty on paper, won many awards for fresh water and salt fish-tank display, bred rare fish, and designed fashion jewelry while working as a purchasing agent for several leading industries. Gregory was also the grandson of the late Jesse L.Dickinson.
He is survived by his wife, Jarine;his daughter, Shannon Marie from a previous marriage;his father, Coleridge T. Dickinson (Dick);and his two sisters, Gwendolyn Williams (Everett) and Jesselen Greenidge Dickinson; his four nephews, Bryon E.and Michael E.Williams, Aaron N. and Adam S.Greenidge;and a host of relatives and friends
