Douglass Daron

Douglass Gleason Daron passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 20, 2022. He was 72. He was born on July 23, 1949 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Anthony “Babe” and Marian Melissa (Gleason) Daron.

Douglass married Joanne Fifer on July 13, 1974, she survives. Also surviving are daughter, Heather (Mike) Preniczny; grandchildren, Aiden, Andrew and Noah; twin brother, David (Carol) Daron; and sister, Susan Daron.

Douglass was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; and sister Karol Daron.

After graduating from Central High School in South Bend, Doug entered the Marine Corps. He would spend four years serving his country. He liked playing cards with his friends, watching movies about WWII and was a collector of Marine Corps memorabilia. Douglass also enjoyed his vacations in the Smokey Mountains and relaxing in the Florida Keys.

Doug worked for Bendix and then later for Baugo Community Schools, a job he enjoyed until early retirement due to a stroke in 2008.

Cremation will take place with no services planned at this time.
