Oscar D. Cobb Jr. Dec. 2, 1951 - Feb. 2, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Oscar D. Cobb Jr. (lovingly known as "Junie") tran-sitioned from this life on February 2, 2015, at the V.A. Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyoming. This was his home for the final years of his life. Oscar was born to Oscar D. Cobb Sr. and Mary Louise Cobb on December 2, 1951, in Louisville, KY, where he resided until June 1965.

After the death of his mother, he came to South Bend, IN, to live with his father.

He graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1969. In high school he was affectionately known as "Sunshine" because of his fashionable yellow Nehru suit, love for fashion and charming smile. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army where he served his country as a Supply Clerk. After being discharged from the service, at the request of his Aunt Rosie B. Fleming, he moved to Milwaukee, WI. While there he worked at A.O. Smith on the production line for over 10 years. He then relocated to Colorado for a number of years before taking up permanent residence in Sheridan, Wyoming. While in Wyoming, his love for shopping and buying nice suits continued. He liked to shop at the Men's Shop in downtown Sheridan.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Maurice Cobb; two daughters, Jackie Cobb-Lampkins and Monique Cobb-Bausley; six grandchildren; sisters: Rosie B. (Linda) Hairston (husband J.D.) of South Bend, IN, Beverly Coleman of Louisville, KY, Josephine Coffee of Louisville, KY, and Diane Cobb-Davis of Hinesville, GA.; and stepsister, Brenda Stewart of Chicago, IL. Surviving aunts include Maude Cobb of Brownsville, TN, Dorothy Hill of Symrna, GA, Pearline Hamilton of South Bend, IN, and Catherine Williams (Willie); and stepmother, Norma Lee of South Bend, IN. He had a special love for his nephews, Horace (Pookie), Antwan and Haven. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and a special friend, Tom Smith of Sheridan, WY.

Both parents, Oscar D. Cobb and Mary Louise Cobb, preceded him in death, along with one nephew, LaMont Cobb, and a favorite uncle, Earl (Uncle Buzzy) Coleman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the VA Mountain View Living Center, 1898 Fort Road in Sheridan, with Chaplains Derek Schultz and Don Verner officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Champion Funeral Home.
