MISHAWAKA -Walter G. Harman, 61, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2012. Born September 19, 1950, he was the son of Walter James and Esther Eleanor (Geissel) Harman.
His father, Walter, two brothers, Joel and Michael, and great-niece Devin Harman preceded him in death.
On June 26, 1971, Wally married the love of his life, Ann J. King. They would have celebrated their 41st anniversary of pure wedding bliss. Also left to cherish his memory are his mom, Esther; two children, Jacqulynn A. (John) Gilmartin of Mishawaka and son, Aaron (Jennifer) Harman, of South Bend; five siblings, Ruth Nowakowski of South Bend, Tony of Walkerton, Fred (Jeannine) of Elkhart, Leroy (Nancy) of Niles, MI and William (Jane) Harman of Albion, MI; a special niece and his Godchild, Jessica Michael, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Walter was a very giving husband, father, brother and friend. He was knowledgeable about so many things and used his talents for helping anyone in need. His family was his first love. He never missed a game, performance, or meeting, when his children were in school, and was always there for anything in adulthood. His second love was his job. He was a pharmacist technician at Memorial Home Care. He loved what he did, and the people that he worked with and those he cared for. He will be greatly missed by many.
Cremation will take place. Contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund under the account name of Ann Jeanette Harman. Contributions can be made at any Mutual Bank location. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.McGannHay.com.
