Shirley M. (Jernstrom) Rzeszewski

Shirley M. Rzeszewski passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on January 28, 1935, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Sven J. and Margaret (Myers) Jernstrom, Shirley's life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her career, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

A proud graduate of Central High School in June 1953, Shirley's academic achievements were just the beginning of a life marked by hard work and commitment. Her career spanned over three decades at Memorial Home Care, where she served as the director of Staffing. Shirley's passion for helping others was evident in her professional life, as she was instrumental in ensuring the best care for those in need through her meticulous work in staffing.

Shirley's legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her devoted daughter, Suzanne Rzeszewski, and her son, Scott Rzeszewski, both of South Bend. Her granddaughter, Heather Rzeszewski Hooley, and great-grandsons, James and Robert Hooley, will forever cherish the memories and lessons imparted by their beloved matriarch. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Anna Mae Smigielski, and her brother, Thomas Jernstrom, whose memories remain a treasured part of the family's history.

Funeral Mass for Shirley will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church 52553 N. Fir Road Granger, IN 46530.  Friends may visit with family from 10:00 am until the time of services.
