WILLIAM L. "GRUMPY" GRISLEY

Aug. 2, 1935 - Dec. 20, 2012 SOUTH BEND - William L. "Grumpy" Grisley, 77, passed away December 20, 2012, in Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born August 2, 1935, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude (Schrader) Grisley. A sister, Betty Kusse, also preceded him in death.

On June 2, 1956, William married Ruth Houp. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Jim Grisley and Linda Villwock, both of South Bend; sister, Beverly (John) Wien of Mishawaka; a granddaughter, Anne (Bruce) Burgamy of Mishawaka; and two great-grandchildren, Will and Abby.

William and Ruth had 56 years of wedded bliss. They loved to travel and had been to many places all over the world, including Ireland, Hawaii and Sweden. He retired after 33 years as an engineer at Bendix. He also proudly served our country in the Army.

Per his request, cremation will take place and there will be no services.
