George A. Zeltner

George A. Zeltner, 83, passed away on June 12, 2025, in Granger, Indiana.
Born on August 1, 1941, George was a lifelong resident of the South Bend area. He graduated from Central High School of South Bend. George served in the U.S. Army Corps, demonstrating his commitment to his country with honor. Following his service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Indiana University of South Bend.
Following his education, he worked at South Bend School Corporation in the computer center and after became the owner and operator of Zeltner Associates Inc., a computer software company he led with dedication and innovation.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Ursula (Parakowski) Zeltner; his children, George W. Zeltner and Amanda (Nathan) Hartshorne; and his cherished grandchildren, Alexander Hartshorne, Cecilia Hartshorne, and Charlotte Zeltner. He was preceded in death by his parents, George B. Zeltner and Arvena B. (Maybee) Zeltner.
A man who embraced life fully, George found great joy in lake life, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends. Known for his fun-loving spirit and warm personality, he had a gift for making others feel welcome through kindness and humor.
A memorial service for George will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reins of Life Therapeutic Horseback Riding at 55200 Quince Rd., South Bend, IN 46619.
George’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and were touched by his warmth and generosity.
