Russell W. Freidline, 72, Cutler, died at 3:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at his home. He was born Sept. 15, 1940, in Tippecanoe County, the son of Joseph and Virginia Freidline. On Sept. 14, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pa., he married Helen M. Klein, and she survives.
Russell was a 1960 graduate of South Bend Central High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. Russell retired from Chrysler Corp as a pipe fitter after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, Cutler; three sons, Michael W. Freidline, Burlington, Dennis J. Freidline and wife Angela, Burlington, and Eric J. Freidline, Kokomo; four grandchildren, Nicholas Freidline, Christina Freidline, Easton Freidline and Austin Freidline; and one brother, Robert J. Freidline, Logansport.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N. Washington St., with the Rev. Fr. David Huemmer officiating. Friends are invited to call on the family from noon to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. A private committal service will be held at a later time in Burlington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Russell's memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church, or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Envelopes will be available at the church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
