LEESBURG - Robert "Bob" Floring, 68, of Leesburg, formerly of LaGrange and Warsaw, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital.

He was born on August 2, 1941, in LaGrange, Indiana, to George and Doris (Anderson) Floring. Bob was a 1960 graduate of South Bend Central High School. He attended the Indiana College of Mortuary Science. After graduating he worked in the funeral service before becoming Sheriff of LaGrange County where he served from 1971-1974. Bob was a charter member of LaGrange Moose, a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Wesick, MI, and the Scottish Rite.

He was retired and most recently worked for Allied Security at Depuy in Warsaw. Bob was a loving person and never knew a stranger. He loved playing golf, participating in the annual cancer golf outing. He enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor and visiting with friends and neighbors. He spent many Saturday afternoons supporting his beloved Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. But, most of all, Bob loved spending time on the lake with his wife of 23 years, and Heidi, his loving dog.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Diane Floring of Beach Grove, IN; brother, Bill (Joanne) Floring of Minnetonka, MN; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Kyle of California. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and by a son, Jim.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, in Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home in Milford, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 23, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will take place at Leesburg Cemetery following the services.
