Zita E. (Balogh) Szilagyi

February 25, 1942 ~ November 4, 2022 (age 80)

Zita E. Szilagyi, 80, passed away on Friday November 4, 2022 in Mishawaka, Indiana.  She was born on February 25, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Louis and Irene (Hodsza) Balogh.

Zita graduated from Central High School and then married the love of her life, Raymond Szilagyi on May 26, 1962.  She worked as a student service representative at Notre Dame for 24 years before retiring.  She had a strong love for animals, boating, gardening, art, and music. But most of all, she loved the family and especially her grandchildren.

Zita is survived by her son, Erick Szilagyi of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jakob and Rachael Szilagyi; nephew, Thomas Balogh; and brother, David Balogh of South Bend.  Along with her husband and parents, Zita is also preceded in death by her nephew Michael Balogh.

Per the family’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.  Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Zita may be given to the South Bend Animal Care and Control, 521 Eclipse Pl., South Bend, IN.
