Mary Martha Yuhasz

Mary M. Yuhasz, 67, of LaPorte, died peacefully after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis at 1:40 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born Feb. 23, 1945, in South Bend, IN, to Joseph and Martha (Radecki) Yuhasz.
Mary was a 1964 graduate of South Bend Central High School. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her family and home. Mary also enjoyed floral arranging, gardening, cake decorating, Bible study and playing games with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of LaPorte, Michiana Antique Auto Club of LaPorte, Red Hat Society, Kingsbury Elementary PTA, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary of LaPorte. Mary will be dearly missed.
On June 5, 1965, in South Bend, she married her best friend, Stephen M. Yuhasz, who survives. Stephen and Mary were high school sweethearts and Mary was the love of Stephen's life.
Also surviving are her son, Stephen (Natasha) Yuhasz of Portage, IN; two daughters, Elaine (Jeff) James and Kathy (Garry) Lenard, both of LaPorte; and seven grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. David Kime officiating. Visitation will be at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte, on Thursday, April 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A prayer service will be officiated by Rev. Ian Williams at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, South Bend, following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 C St., LaPorte, IN 46350; or Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 130 Bach St., LaPorte, IN 46350.
