Mary Alice Weirick, 58, of Culver, Indiana, died at 1:37PM on Thursday, June 30, 2005, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, IN.

Mary was born on November 21, 1946, to John Y. and Mary B. (Blandford) Slick at South Bend, Indiana.

She was married on June 12, 1987, at Plymouth, Indiana, to Jim Weirick. He survives.

She is also survived by her loving daughter: Theresa (Tixe) Wierick of Culver, IN; step-son: Dr. Troy A. (Suzie) Weirick of Lexington, KY; step-daughters: Leigh (Jerry) O'Neal of Indianapolis, IN, and Tina (Tracy) Mevis of Warsaw, IN; sister: Katherine A. (Kent) Perry of South Bend, IN; and grandchildren: Harrison, Andrew, and Makayla Mevis, and Martha (Marty) Weirick.

Mary Alice "Mimi" Weirick, 58, of 1213 Hoosier Lane, Culver, IN, passed away at 1:37 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, IN.

Mimi was born on November 21, 1946, in South Bend, IN, to John Y. and Mary B. (Blandford) Slick. She was raised in South Bend and graduated from Central High School in 1964. She then went to attain her bachelor's and master's degrees from Indiana University.

She was a school teacher who spent 27 of her 30 years teaching children of the Culver Community School Corporation, retiring in 2003.

Mimi was a member of the St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Culver, and was very involved in all of the church's activities. She also used her love of sewing on many church projects.

Mimi was married on June 12, 1987, to Jim Weirick in Plymouth, IN. He survives. In addition to her loving husband, Mimi is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Tixe) Weirick of Culver; stepson, Dr. Troy A. (Suzie) Weirick of Lexington, KY; stepdaughters, Leigh (Jerry) O'Neal of Indianapolis, IN, and Tina (Tracy) Mevis of Warsaw, IN; sister, Katherine (Kent) Perry of South Bend; sister-in-law, Meredith Peltz of Culver; grandchildren, Harrison, Andrew and Makayla Mevis, and Martha (Marty) Weirick; and by many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Please join Mimi's family for a time of remembrance and celebration of her life from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2005, in the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver. A spiritual wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 4, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Culver, with Father Glenn Kohrman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church or to the Culver Alumni and Community Scholarship Fund at the Marshall Co. Community Foundation.
