Linda Ruth Meyers

February 24, 1945 ~ June 18, 2020 (age 75)

Linda Meyers, 75, passed away in Fairfax, VA on June 18, 2020 after her courageous fight with cancer.  She was born on February 24, 1945 in South Bend, IN to John E. Meyers and Margariette (Hosey) Meyers.

Linda lived in Fairfax, VA and worked for the National Parks Department of the US Government for over 40 years.  After her retirement, she joined the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and became the Chairperson for the Alzheimer’s Committee within the NARFE organization.  She promoted fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Committee and worked with local restaurants holding fundraiser BBQ’s to support the cause.

Linda was a good, loyal friend to those around her and loved to attend local concerts and musicals.  She loved plants and flowers of all kinds.  She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles.

Per Linda's wishes, cremation has occurred. A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 PM EST on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Riverview Cemetery, 2300 Portage Avenue, South Bend, IN 46616. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Alzheimer’s Research in Linda’s name for Chapter 737.  Please mail your donations to Ms. Donna Shackelford, 14429 Round Lick Lane, Centreville, VA  20120-1680.
