Robert J. Dailey

Robert J. Dailey, 57, of Tonti Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Robert was born on Dec. 13, 1944, in South Bend, to Lewis J. and Alice Jane (Aslin) Dailey.

Robert was preceded by his father, Lewis J. Dailey Sr.

Robert retired from W.S.B.T. TV in January 2001 after 38 years as news director. He was a 1963 graduate of South Bend Central High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in South Bend.

Robert is survived by his mother; Alice Dailey of South Bend; two brothers, Lewis G. (Sharron) Dailey Jr. of South Bend and James W. Dailey of Bristol, Ind.; two nieces, Susan (Tom) Jones of South Bend and Jill (Jeff) Swartz of South Bend; and two greatnieces, Brittany and Kari Swartz, both of South Bend.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., where funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, with Rev. Gregory Fiechtner officiating, and burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
