Rebecca “Becky” Ponder

MISHAWAKA - South Bend - Rebecca Ann Ponder, 77, passed away at 6:14pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in the Center for Hospice, Raclin House in Mishawaka.

Becky was born on September 26, 1943, in South Bend to the late Thomas J. and Thelma O. (Pennell) Ponder.

Becky is survived by her brother, David (Barbara) Ponder of Granger; nephews Seth (Sarah) Ponder, and Adam (Maighdlin) Ponder; niece, Leigh (Paul) Cataldo; and great nieces and nephews, Henry, Louis, Everett, Royal, Sullivan, Arlo, Meryl, and one on the way. Becky was Blessed with many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Becky graduated from Central High School in 1962. She worked for WSBT as a Radio Traffic Coordinator for 42 years before retiring in 2003. She was a member of American Business Women, South Bend Moose, and was a Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher at Granger Community Church.

Visitation will be from 10am to 12 noon on Saturday, May 1, 2021 Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd, South Bend, IN 46635 a Memorial Service will begin at 12 noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
