SOUTH BEND - Lucinda L. (Meyers) Visser, 77, passed away at 10:15am on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in her home.

Lucinda was born on June 23, 1943, in South Bend to the late Adam and Elaine (Giepel) Meyers. Lucinda was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Meyers and brother-in-law, James O'Neal.

Lucinda is survived by her husband Arthur Visser; daughters Kathleen Hickman of South Bend and Kimberly (Martin) Hickman-Lightner of Hermitage, Missouri; Sister Susan O'Neal, Sister-in-law Brenda Meyers; grandchildren Christopher (Angel) Uselton, Taylor (Derek Robbins) Pallatin, and Jacob (Jessica) Pallatin; great-grandsons Avery (Tristan Paschal) Uselton and Levi Uselton, and great-great granddaughter Journey Uselton. Additional surviving family includes nieces and nephews Gregory Anders, Brian Anders, Emily (Rick) Anders, Meredith (Vince) Fordell, Ellie (Mike) Lloyd, Erica (Eric) Clapp, and Lucinda's first husband, Jim (Debbie) Hickman.

At age 16, Lucinda, joined the South Bend Symphony and was with them throughout the 1960's. She was a devoted member of the Rainbow Girls while in high school. She went to Ball State on a Music Scholarship. She was a volunteer with the Literacy Council and mentored people learning English. She served on the St. Joseph County Grand Jury for one year. She worked at IUSB in the Business and Economics Department for 10 years. Lucinda worked at Pet Smart on Ireland Road for the last 15 years and had a deep appreciation and fondness for animals. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and played many musical instruments including cello, piano, organ and Banjo. She played the organ for the last six years at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service will be at 11am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodland, Indiana. All who knew her are welcome to attend. A reception will follow in the Church Community Room. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church

Helen Edwards (Finnigan) (1961)

Cindy - I remember you as a neighbor and friend - also we did quite a bit of double dating way back when.  A lot of fun.  We both had our first babies within a couple of months apart.  Gosh, those were the days.  It all went so fast and I know you will be missed greatly by your family.  Just doesn't seem possible you have left us.
