MISHAWAKA - Mary Lou Krawiec, 73, passed away on Sunday, July 22, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mary Lou was born on April 2nd in South Bend to Richard I. and Elizabeth T. (Horvath) Widmar.

On August 25, 1962, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, as the former Mary Lou Widmar, she married Casimer J. Krawiec.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Surviving are two brothers, Richard Widmar of South Bend and David Widmar of Granger. Mary Lou was an Audit Specialist for Ohio Casualty Insurance for 38 years before she retired in 1995. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in South Bend. Mary Lou was a very loving and nurturing person. She had lots of friends, and always looked out for her brothers, whom she just adored. She loved her dogs, and Mary Lou was the one family member who always took care of the family gravesites.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 26, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, with Pastor Leonard Chrobot officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the St. Patrick Catholic Church Building Fund, 309 S. Taylor St., South Bend, IN 46601; to the American Cancer Society , Great Lakes Division Northwest Indiana Office, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to the Alzheimer's Association , 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
