Sally Lynn (Weaver) Gnott
August 27, 1939 ~ June 29, 2026 (age 86)
Sally L. Gnott, 86, of South Bend, IN passed away on Monday, June 29th, 2026, at Hubbard Hill, Elkhart, IN after multiple illnesses in the last several months.
She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 27th, 1939 to Warren Andrew and Georgia Alice (Nichols) Weaver. She graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1957, attended Indiana University-South Bend part time for two years, then graduated from Vogue Beauty College in 1960. She married Edward Eugene Gnott on April 8th, 1961 at St. Stanislaus Church in South Bend. They were married for 43 years before Ed’s passing.
She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger since 1965 and was active in several groups at different times of her life. She was very active with her South Bend Central High School reunion committee, missing only her 5th and 69th (this year) class reunions. She was also a volunteer at St Pius for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, eating out with friends and former classmates, and her very favorite pastime was READING. She enjoyed all types of books, especially historical romances.
Sally had seven (7) grandchildren and two (2) great-grandchildren, all she dearly loved and spent as much time with them as she could. For many years that involved baseball, basketball, football and volleyball games, track, soccer, and gymnastic meets. She was also blessed with her two great-grandchildren in the last two weeks of her life!
Sally worked at Dental Arts Laboratories for her father during her high school years before and after marriage. After staying home as a wife and mother she started working at AmerisourceBergen in 1974 part time, then moving to full time, working there in different positions ending as Administrative Assistant, retiring in 2005. She was a pioneer for working women.
She was predeceased by her father Warren A Weaver (1971) her Mother Georgia A Weaver (2002) and husband Edward E Gnott in 2004.
Survivors are her children/grandchildren and their families. Edward E. and his wife, Lori (Hermesch) Gnott and children Andrew W. (Jennifer) Gnott with great-grandson Warren Everett, born 6/27/26 and Adam R. (Madison) Gnott; Stacey L. and her husband J. Timothy Huff and their children Danae E. (Michael) Shanahan, Colin A. (Emily) Huff, and Brenna L. and (Andrew) Kirkum with great-granddaughter Hadley Lynn, born 6/20/26; Eric M. Gnott, and his children Evan R. and Miranda E. Gnott and her brother, Gary (Priscilla) Weaver. She also leaves behind her very dear friends from grade school and high school, Anna Mae Coryell, Nema Cook and Zanette Kostin.
We thank all the people involved in the last few months from Elkhart General and Beacon Hospital, Hubbard Hill, Southern Care Hospice and friends that have been there for Sally and all of us for a very long time. She touched and loved all that she met, and it showed until the end.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday), July 8th with visitation at 9:30 AM prior to the service at St. Pius X Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Cemetery at State Road 23 where she will be buried next to her beloved husband.
