Class of 1957 Jack was a great brother, husband, dad and grandfather. His ability as a carpenter flowed through his son John Jr. as they worked together on many projects. He had the best sense of humor and loved his family more than anything.

John "Jack" Szucs, Sr., 61, of Clover Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 3:15 a.m. early on Tuesday morning, Jan. 18, in the Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.
Mr. Szucs was born on Aug. 9, 1938, in South Bend, as the son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Pinter) Szucs. He was a lifelong area resident.
On Sept. 9, 1961, in South Bend, he married the former Beverly Forsythe. Mr. Szucs is survived by his wife Beverly of 38 years; and by two daughters, Amy Baity and Christine Szucs, both of Mishawaka; a son, John (Sandra) Szucs, Jr., also of Mishawaka; three granddaughters, Kari Szucs, Susan Szucs and Shannon Baity; two grandsons, John Szucs, III, and Ryan Baity; two sisters, Eileen of Rochester, Ind., and Charlotte of Mishawaka; and by a brother Jim, also of Mishawaka.
He was a member of Local #20 Sheet Metal Workers.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bremen Municipal Cemetery.
