Wallace 'Wally" Harrison Patterson, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Wally was born in Athens, Alabama on May 22, 1937 to the late Ed and Daisy (Harrison) Patterson. On May 22, 1960, in Mishawaka, he married the love of his life, Sharon Strong.

He went on to serve proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1962. He was a member of the American Legion post 303. Wally worked at Dodge Manufacturing for many years before his retirement.

He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Notre Dame football. He was a supporter of Mishawaka Wrestling and Northside Little League. He will be missed by his friends at the Galley and American Legion Post 303.

His greatest joy came from watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren through the years, and attending their sporting events. Wally also dearly loved his four-legged companion, Lucky, they were great pals. Wally is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Patterson, along with their sons, Richard Douglas (Donnette) Patterson of Granger, and Aaron Jay (Courtney) Patterson of South Bend.

He was the proud grandfather of 7; Joel (Sara) Patterson, Caitlin (Kevin) Shumaker, Josh (Brittney) Patterson, Haley Patterson, Emily (Adam) Coppins, Austin Patterson and Alex Patterson, and great grandfather of 5; Harper Patterson, Sophia Shumaker, Eleanor Patterson, Sadie Coppins and Sawyer Patterson. Wally is also survived by his siblings; Joyce (Kenneth) Vargo, Richard (Carol) Patterson both of Mishawaka, and David (Dora) Patterson of South Bend. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Patterson, 5 sisters, Francis Bell, Rebecca Brown, Louise Pack, Margaret Vinson, Dorothy Gordon, and one brother, James Patterson.

As per Wally"s wishes, cremation is to take place with no services. Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
