Dick relocated back to South Bend to start his civil career to work for IBM. He later worked in sales management before owning two sequential advertising businesses. He eventually retired from Midwest Industries.
Baseball was his passion and while playing his whole life, he made it a part of his family’s fabric. It was his way to connect and engage with the neighborhood. For many years Dick coached and managed youth baseball at Northside Little League and Chet Waggoner Senior League. He loved sharing and teaching his passion. In addition, most summer Sundays started with a barbeque that was proceeded by a three-generation neighborhood softball game.
Above all, Dick cherished spending time with his family. He devoted his life to taking care of his children, coaching, and supporting their educational endeavors. Described best by those who knew him as loving, and kind, Dick’s unwavering support and generous heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
