Charles Edmund Lauer
Sep. 10, 1935 – Dec. 2, 2013

ELKHART – Charles Edmund Lauer, 75, of South Bend, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer on December 2, 2013 in the comforts of his sons' home.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Clara Lauer, and his sister Jeannette Rzeszewski all of South Bend. He is survived by his four children: David (Donna) Lauer, Carlotta Santa (Rick Ness), James (Linda) Lauer, and Michael (Maureen) Lauer, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews.

Charles graduated from Central High School in South Bend. He was an avid car lover, so much so that he was a mechanic and pit crew member for Drewery's 88 special Indy car in 57 and 58 and for Ed Hoffman's 1 late model short track through the seventies. He was also a master mechanic and instructor for Mercedes Benz of North America for many years.
There wasn't a person he didn't meet that he didn't put a smile on their face with his unique sense of humor.

The family will be hosting a memorial service in memory of Chuck on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1 pm at Crumstown Conservation Club, Crumstown Hwy, North Liberty, IN.

Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
