Janice Jones (Webber) - Class Of 1957 VIEW PROFILE

Janice Jones (Webber)

Janice Ann Webber (Jones)

Janice Ann Webber, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday morning, July 16, 2021 at her home in Granger, IN. She was born on December 15, 1938 in South Bend, IN, to Owen Jones of Caernarfonshire, Wales, and Dorothy (Hass) Jones of Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

On September 5, 1959, Janice married James Webber in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of South Bend. James survives to cherish the memory of the love of his life as well as the life they created in the home they built together in Granger, Indiana.

Janice was a loving and devoted mother to her four children, Scot (Marsha) Webber, Shelly (Kevin) Baumgartner, Krista (David) Okrzesik, and Sherri Houser. Over the years, this family of six would grow to include nine grandchildren, Rachael (Kristen) Baumgartner, Lydia Baumgartner (her fiancée Chris), Adam Baumgartner, Caitlin Webber, Badge Webber, Callan Okrzesik, Lawton (Dawn) Houser, Hunter Houser, and Haydon Houser; four great-grandchildren, Lucy, Amelia, and Huxley—and Deklan, who is already in Heaven waiting to welcome his great-grandma.

Janice loved and cherished her family and leaves them with a lifetime of happy and loving memories. The life that Janice built with her husband, Jim, over the last 60-plus years is a shining example of the strength of true love and commitment to family and friends. Janice never wanted to sit in the spotlight or draw attention to herself, but her unbelievable kindness and the care she so unselfishly gave to her family and friends reflected upon her many times over, leaving her humbly the center of her family’s world.

Janice will be missed by almost as many people here on earth, as she will be greeted by in heaven. Her family and friends will miss her hugs, kisses, smile and surprisingly sneaky sense of humor. The past few months have been hard, as health declined for this proud and strong woman, but the grace and dignity she has shown will stay in the hearts of her family and friends for the rest of their lives. The time Janice gave us to say goodbye and thank you, will be cherished forever by all who know her.

Remember to be careful, and I love you more.

Friends may gather with the family for a memorial visitation from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. A private graveside service and interment of Janice’s ashes will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.

Contributions in memory of Janice may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.

Online condolences may be left for the Webber family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
