Ronald J. Janowczyk, 77, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 10:41 a.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Ronald was born on April 23, 1938 in South Bend to Harry J. and Helen (Rudynski) Janowczyk.

He retired on March 31, 2005 from Cummins Midstates Power, where he was employed for 13 years as Sales Manager. He had been in the electrical business for 35 years. On April 27, 1957, in the former Sacred Heart Church on Thomas Street, he married his high school sweetheart, Audrey DeCook, who survives.

Ron and Audrey shared 58 years of marriage. Left to cherish his memory are three daughters, Ronette (Mike) McNulty of Osceola, Indiana, Deborah (Tim) Taylor of South Bend, Indiana, and Lynn (Paul) Karfomenos of Granger, Indiana; two sons, Ronald R. (Lori) Janowczyk of Colleyville, Texas and Timothy R. (Janelle) Janowczyk of Granger, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Christy, Kelly, Carly, Nick, Amber, Timmy, Jake, Joey, Lauren, Annie, Ally and Julia; twelve great-grandchildren, Liam, Howie, Caroline, Molly, Lizzy, Makenzie, Maddie, Ella, James, Audrey, David, and Ryan; and two sisters, Leona Dvorak of Elkhart, Indiana and Rita Kuskye of South Bend, Indiana.

Ronald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Cindy; and his brother, Fred Janowczyk. Monday, November 16, 2015 a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 4:30 pm at Corpus Christi Church. The family will greet guests one hour prior to Mass. A celebratory dinner honoring Ron's life will immediately follow at the American Legion Post #357.

Ron was a 1956 graduate of South Bend Central High School. He had attended the University of Illinois. He served in the Marines and was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. Ron was Chairman of the Board at Chiphone Credit Union from 1990-2015. He was a member of the Bend of the River Conservation Club, Moose Lodge in Elkhart, P.N.A, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, and the F.O.P. Ron loved to hunt and fish and treasured the times he spent doing so with his sons.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Williams Syndrome Association (www.williams-syndrome.org) or Hope Ministries-South Bend (www.hopesb.org). The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Walter Halloran, Dr. Matt Koscielski, and Registered Nurses Brooke and Scott at SJRMC for their care and compassion for Ron and his family.
