David Everett

David L. Everett Sr., 84, of Elkhart, died June 19, 2022, after a short illness. He was born April 19, 1938, to Edward A. Everett and Hazell (Troy) Everett in South Bend, along with four siblings Edward Everett, Michael Everett, Thomas Everett, and MaryKay Hollingsworth. He attended St. Joe Highschool and graduated from Central Highschool. After graduating high school David entered the US Army where he served until 1960. On July 1, 1979 he married his true love Rosetta Furore in Mishawaka who survives him after 42 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Everett.

Surviving siblings include Edward Everett (Kitty Rose), Mishawka, Thomas Everett, Syracuse, MaryKay Hollingsworth (Tim), Yukon, OK. Also surviving are his three children, Lisa Makowski (Jack), Edwardsburg, Laura Deak (Ken), Cassopolis, David Everett (Shane), Osceola, and three stepchildren, Robert Gooding (Clover), Scottsdale, AZ, Gregory Gooding, Ballard, WA, Charles Gooding (Diane) Elkhart and 6 grandchildren, Paige Baker (Taylor), Haley Bywaters (Jack), Lexy Deak, Claire Deak, Jacob Everett (Mady Stewart), and Abigale Everett.

David retired from NIPSCO in 1997 after which he worked at Bent Oak Golf Course where he made many lifelong friends, retiring in 2020. He was a devout catholic at St. Vincent Depaul Catholic Church in Elkhart, IN. David was an outgoing, fun-loving man, who always had the best jokes that were sure to fill a room with laughter. David and Rosetta spent their winters in Fort Myers Beach, Florida with many friends. David played a large role in supporting his grandchildren by attending their many sporting events and extracurricular activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed rooting for the fighting Irish, going to lunch with his friends, giving his vehicle a car wash, and ensuring his lawn looked the best in the

Neighborhood. David was an avid golfer playing with his friends several times a week.

On Monday, June 27, 2022 a rosery will be said at 4:00pm followed by visitation until 7:00pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman funeral home located 403 West Franklin St. Elkhart, IN. A mass will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Vincent Depaul Catholic Church located at 1108 South Main St. Elkhart, IN.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Vincent Depaul
