Robert (Bob) William Drajer

May 18, 1938 ~ November 24, 2021 (age 83)

It is with great sadness to share the news that Robert (Bob) Drajer passed away after a 15 year battle with prostate cancer at the age of 83 on Wednesday, November 24th surrounded by family at his home.  Bob was born on May 18th, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Leonard and Regina Drajer (Krantz). He was one of four children, Rita, Lee, Bob and Dave Drajer. Bob grew up in South Bend, attended Holy Cross Grade School, graduated from Central High School then enlisted in the Air Force.  On June 6th, 1964 he married his girlfriend of many years from just down the street, Sandra Jean Wentland. Bob worked for many years within the manufacturing industry (Allied Products/EWI South Bend Stamping).  He enjoyed golfing, working outside in his garden and cheering on the Chicago Bears.  However, what he truly loved most was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports throughout the years. He was always a friendly face and would often strike a conversation with anyone he met. He is proceeded in passing by his parents Leonard, Regina, sister Rita (infant) and brother Leon Drajer. Bob remains in spirit with his wife, Sandra (Wentland), his brother David (Joy) Drajer, his two sons Ron (Debbie) Wentland and Kevin (Jill) Drajer, his daughter, Deborah (Anthony) Stockwell, and his six grandchildren; Davis and Regan Wentland, Madison (Graham) Denning, Mason Drajer, Alice and Charles Stockwell.

His presence will be truly missed by all. The family would like to thank all the staff at Michiana Hematology Oncology and ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made on his behalf to the Center for Hospice Care (Mishawaka, IN) who provided amazing support in his final days.  Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at Holy Cross Church (1050 Wilber St., South Bend) on Friday December 3rd at 10 am for Visitation followed by Funeral Mass at 11am.
