Denese C. Landen

South Bend– Denese C. Landen, 82, passed away at 5:05am Sunday, June 20, 2021 in Memorial Hospital.
 Denese was born on July 16, 1938 in South Bend to Arthur and Gina Verl (Bennett) Cordtz. On November 11, 1957 she married James E. Landen. He died on October 27, 1988. Denese was also preceded in death by a brother Richard “Dick” Cordtz. Surviving are a daughter Pam (Rich) Gosbin - Niles MI, a son Bryan (Kathy) Landen – Bella Vista, AR, 4 grandchildren Jeanese (Dane) Ex – Flint MI, Robert (Anitta) Gosbin – Valparaiso IN, Kate (Shawn) Murray – Morgantown, IN , and Ken (Dr. Lucia Licandro Lado) Landen Oceanside, CA , 8 great-grandchildren Clayton Ex, Braylee Ex, Nate Gosbin, Taylor Gosbin, Riley Gosbin, Landen Burton, Tyler Murray, and Layla Murray.  Denese enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always brought a big smile to her face , crafts, quilting blankets, genealogy, animals , making braille Bibles and was an avid swimmer. She also appeared as a swimsuit model in the Studebaker Magazine in her younger years . Denese was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church Last week she celebrated early her 83rd birthday and moving party with about 50 friends and family. It brought her a lot of joy to see all her friends and family.  Private services will take place in the Zahoran Funeral Home on Monday June 21 st . Cremation will follow. Mom donated her furniture and miscellaneous items to “Home For Tracy”. This organization helps women and children get back on their feet. Mom loved to help others in need.
