Tony was born April 10, 1946, in South Bend, to Edward T. and Vesta Blankert, both preceded him in death.

A long time resident of South Bend, Tony graduated Central High School in 1965. He entered the Air Force in June 1966 and served two tours in Vietnam. He spent much of his life in the company of others, working in the restaurant and bar industry. He is a previous owner of The Boat Club. Services will be held Friday, Dec. 3, in Saint Anthony De Padua Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., where friends may call one hour before services.

McGann Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Toys for Tots or an unwrapped children's gift or book be brought to the services.
