Mary E. Wilson, age 64, passed peacefully and finally in no pain on September 23, 2011 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at Runge Mortuary Tuesday September 27th from 5:30 to 6:30. Memorials can be made to Scott County Humane Society. She was the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Keeney) Wilson of South Bend, Indiana. Mary lived most of her life in South Bend and received her Art Degree at Stephens College , Columbia Mo. She moved to the Quad City area where she resided until her passing. Mary was a gifted artist in a variety of mediums and an author of prose and poetry. Her spirit delighted all she touched and all were in awe of her tremendous courage, perseverance, and amazing inner strength. Mary was a voracious reader and loved animals and children. She served as a kind and learned source of wisdom as she mentored the children of all those she loved. Mary was a living example of merciful love to everyone and will forever be cherished, missed, and honored.

Mary is survived by her two brothers, Richard Wilson of South Bend Indiana, and Michael Wilson of Camarillo, California. Other family include her nephew Tim (and Michelle) Wilson and niece Kelly (and Robert) Wheeler, and her beloved goddaughter Savannah Bogge. Mary's memory will be cherished by Rebecca, Hope, Cassandra, and Kirk Pittman, and Julia Gharagougloo of Kansas City, KS. She will also be dearly missed by her friend and caregiver, Lee Bertoncella. Mary's faithful companion, her cat Stormy, was by her side when she passed, as he always was.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her life-long friend, companion and champion, Judy Albert.
