Wilma Jean "Fredd" Overgaard, 78, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

She was born November 27, 1946, in South Bend, Indiana, to Gilbert and Lillian (Achor) Potts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marsha Wolf, and her nephew Michael Krysiak. She is survived by her son Joshua (Shelly) Overgaard of South Bend; daughter Sarah Overgaard of Edwardsburg; siblings Karen (Tom) Glenton of Largo, Florida; Brenda Potts of Three Rivers, Michigan; and David (Kim) Potts of South Bend, and nephew Matthew Wolf of South Bend.

Fredd was a lifelong learner and fiercely independent thinker. She raised two children as a single mother while working full-time and earning an associate's degree—something she was justifiably proud of. A talented visual artist and longtime graphic designer, she favored ink and oil paint but never limited herself creatively. She loved books, black coffee, good music, planting flowers, and playing with her cats.

Though very happily retired, she was always willing to lend her eye for design or her ear for language to anyone who asked.

An informal memorial gathering will be held Saturday, October 4, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Condominiums in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
