Cleta M. Gildea passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the age of 80 in Elkhart, Indiana. Born on November 12, 1945, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Cleta was the beloved daughter of the late Francis "Frank" Gildea and Lillian (Robichaud) Gildea. Her warmth, creativity, and love of life's simple pleasures left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Cleta grew up in a lively household and shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Gildea, her sisters Fran (Jim) Babinski, Diana (Ralph) Sharpe, and Donna Redding. She is survived by her brother Edward (Jinny) Gildea of Augusta, Ga. Her family was a source of great joy, and she cherished the time spent with them, filling their gatherings with laughter and fond memories.
A proud graduate of South Bend Central High School, Cleta's passion for learning and personal growth was evident throughout her life. She was a voracious reader, always with a book in hand, and her love for stories extended to the silver screen, where she found great pleasure in watching movies of all genres. Cleta's creativity shone brightly in her talent for creative decorating, a hobby that allowed her to express her unique vision and flair. Her home was a testament to her artistic eye, a welcoming and beautifully adorned space that reflected her personality and spirit.
