SOUTH BEND - Charlotte J. (McNulty) Dunbar of Fairington Circle died Saturday, April 18, 1998 in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Born Racine, WI to Edwin and Martha (Hamilton) Armstrong she lived most of her life in the South Bend area.

Survivors from her first marriage include two daughters, Carol (Robert) Loeffler and Kathleen (Gregory) Miller, both of South Bend, and a son, Thomas (Charlene) McNulty of Elkhart, In. Also two daughters and three sons from her second marriage, Mary Dunbar of South Bend and Martha (James) Krull of Fishers, In. Robert (Linda) Dunbar, Jr.; John (Maryclare) Dunbar, and David (Sandy) Dunbar all of Mishawaka, In. Mrs. Dunbar is also survived by 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Mahn of Mount Dora, Florida and two brothers, Edwin Armstrong of Portland, Oregon and Stuart Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mrs. Dunbar was a member of the South Bend-Mishawaka Board of Realtors for 42 years and was the first woman broker. She was a charter member of the Multiple Listing Service and a past president as well. She was the first woman to be honored as South Bend-Mishawaka Realtor of the Year in 1976. She was a former member of the International Realtors, a Delegate to Ireland Congress in 1971. She also served on the Mayor's Biracial Committee and the Governor's Conference on Housing. Mrs. Dunbar was a charter member of the Summit Club, a member of the Home Builder's Association of St. Joseph Valley, South Bend Credit Bureau, Michiana Area Chamber of Commerce, Memorial Hospital Women's Auxiliary Board and the Morris Park Country Club. She also sponsored the Irish Youth Hockey League for 12 years. She operated her own real estate office, McNulty & Associates, for 16 years and later became a broker associate with Cressy & Everett Better Homes and Gardens, The Hickey Group, and Andy Place Builders.

Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Ind., where a Rosary service was recited at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Matthews Cathedral, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Dunbar to the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research in Rochester, MN.
