Ralph A. Berman

Dr. Ralph A. Berman, 82, of Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Ill., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, Oct. 5, in his residence. He was born Dec. 13, 1917 to the late Joseph and Ida Berman in South Bend.
He was also preceded in his son-in-law, Brian Schuster; twin brother, Lewis, brothers, Sam, and Ike; and sisters, Mary, Mitzi, Esther, Gita and Ann. He married the former Rosayln Hochman in Indianapolis on July 21, 1940, Rosayln died January 1989.
On June 9, 1992, he married Helen (Mimi) Wolff who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Nikki (Phil) Goldsmith of Indianapolis, Ind., Jill (Steve) Ross of South Bend, Jody (Mike) Fried of South Bend and Cheri Schuster of South Bend; eleven grandchildren, Eric, Dhana (Fred); Chad, Sam, Jeremy, Jessica, Jack, Amy, Jed, Ryan, Rozzie; a great-grandson, Austin and a great-granddaughter, Bari, and by several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Berman practice dentistry in South Bend for over 50 years.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Sinai Synagogue, Elks Lodge, Jewish War Veterans, Alpha Omega Fraternity, B'Nai-B'rith.
Funeral services for Dr. Berman will be at 10:30 on Sunday, Oct. 8, in the FOREST G. HAY FUNERAL HOME, located at Jefferson and Ironwood. Burial will follow in the Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery, Mishawaka, Ind. There will be no visitation.
