James Eldon Barker

James Eldon Barker, 86, of Sidney, Ohio, died Thursday, May 2, in Mill Run Gardens, Hilliard, Ohio. He retired as sales manager for the Copeland Refrigeration Corporation in 1974. He graduated from Purdue University School of Mechanical Engineering in 1939, and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Sidney.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene (Swem); children, Susan Barker Killian of Baltimore, Md., and William D. (Donna) Barker of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Steven (Clare), James (Yvette) and Michael (Leah) Killian, Lori Henderson, Kristen, Abby, Kathryn, Hannah and Matthew Barker; by greatgrandchildren, David and Madeline Killian, and Madeline and Sidney Henderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in the First United Methodist Church, Sydney, Ohio. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
